Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences

The Breakthrough Prize in Life Sciences are given annually.

Each winner receives $3 million.

One prize per year is designated for work contributing to the understanding of Parkinson’s Disease and Neurodegenerative Disorders.

The Selection Committee may award a prize to more than one person, including to collaborations, jointly and divide the monetary award among them.

The Breakthrough Prizes were founded by Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki. The life science prizes have been sponsored by the personal foundations established by Sergey Brin, Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg, Ma Huateng, Jack Ma, Yuri and Julia Milner, and Anne Wojcicki.
