It is humbling to be recognized for doing what I love. I take this chance to express my gratitude to my teachers and mentors, especially Bill Fulton, Heisuke Hironaka, Mircea Mustaţă, Hal Schenck, and Bernd Sturmfels. What you have taught on mathematics and life will be invaluable for the remainder of my jour-ney. Throughout my career, I was fortunate to be surrounded by numerous exceptional mathematicians, and I thank them all for creating such a wonderful professional community. I am proud to be part of it. I would like to mention in particular Eric Katz, for being an inspiring collaborator and friend. Lastly, I thank my wife, Nayoung, for love and support over the years. A few words are not enough to express the thanks that I owe to her.
