2014 Breakthrough Prize Ceremony

The 2014 Breakthrough Prize ceremony took place on December 12, 2013 at NASA’s Hangar 1 in Mountain View, California – home of the Kepler Mission to find planets capable of supporting life. The event was produced by Vanity Fair and Don Mischer Productions and broadcast by the Science channel. The audience included leading figures from the worlds of technology, business, entertainment and academia. The ceremony started with a video message from Stephen Hawking and was hosted by Kevin Spacey. From Hollywood, Glenn Close, Rob Lowe, Michael C. Hall and Anna Kendrick presented awards alongside Google’s Larry Page and Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales, as well as Breakthrough Prize founding sponsors Sergey Brin, Anne Wojcicki, Mark Zuckerberg and Yuri Milner.
